OS X Sever - How do i use the main domain name http://example.com instead of the www variant?

Out of the box setup, 10.8.3 and OS X Server App 2.2.1.

My machine is server.example.com and it's set to provide mail for example.com.

In the DNS screen i setup and alias www for the server.example.com

How can i make it that when people type in http://example.com it takes them to my site and does not redirect to http://www.example.com?

It already works... hmmm.... it seems Safari just adds www on its own.

You need to explicitly add http://example.com for it to connect directly... if you type example.com... it adds www to it... maxthon browser does not seem to do this.

No it does not... I just did some extensive testing, and my http://server.example.com does not answer with a web page when i contact it with just http://example.com

I managed to fix http://www.example.com by simply adding an alias in the DNS service, but i can't seem to be able to add one for the root domain http://example.com.

Anyone?
