Q: I attempted to update my ipod. I tried to restore it after the update crashed it. I get a message that it can't be restored the server is down, try again later. Im sure all my music is gone as well. Any suggestions?

Update Server
Try:
- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
Public DNS — Google Developers
OpenDNS IP Addresses
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem

You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
