I lost my audio books off my iPod mini, but only noticed it after buying a new computer. I went to download the books again, but connot see the option for audiobooks. Can anyone suggest where I should look?

Audiobooks (and ringtones) are currently a one-time only download from the store. If you haven't got a copy of them on a computer nor on a backup of your downloads, then if they are still in the store you could try contacting iTunes support via this and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
Why is this such a problem? Any why are audio books treated differently in the new IOS?
It has nothing to do with the ios.
This post is three years old.
The audiobook industry does not allow iTunes to do this.
The music industry does.
That is the difference.
