How do I keep a cell from calculating a number and changing it?
You will have to explain more of what you are running into.
Because my immediate answer is "delete the formula".

Select the cell.
Copy
Go Edit > Paste Values.

thank you for the responses. Here is whats happening... When I enter the numbers 250/500, the cell wants to divide the numbers so when I hit enter it puts .5 into the cell. How do I keep 250/500 in the cell?
type a single quote before the "250/500" OR type ="250/500" or format the cell as text
Go to inspector. Choose text.
it didnt work. 😟 any other thoughts?
Please post what method you tried (a screenshot always helps).
Hum... Click on a cell. Go to Inspector. Select Cells. Change the format of the cell to Text.
