Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Thanks! That's exactly what I looked up earlier but still doesn't help me.

Your original DNS number was probably the LAN IP address of your router. Something like 10.0.1.1 or 192.168.1.1

Use DHCP to get your router to supply this information.
