Removing Dropbox Files on iPad

I am using Dropbox on my iPad. I use other apps in reading files from Dropbox. Although I don't intend to save files on this, the files from Dropbox are saved. Its size is too big, so I would like to delete these files. Can I ask you to let me know how to do this?

Hi christiansquires. I agree, but that's really a question for DropBox. I believe that these cached files are treated as temporary, so they will be released if another app or file needs the storage. So it's supposed to work transparently, without needing to bother the user. That's why they don't let you manage them. I use Box, and it works the same way.

Swipe across the file in the preview window on the left to bring up the red delete button. To tap the checkmark icon above the preview window and then select the files that you want to delete and tap the red delete button at the bottom

You will be deleting the files from DropBox everywhere.

Hi Demo, thanks for your comment. I put my files in Dropbox, and I read them through my GoodReader. It seems natural iPad saves the files in GoodReader, but even after I open them in GoodReader, Dropbox keep the files in its folder. My iPad has small capacity, so I need to remove them from Dropbox, those are unnecessary, to keep my iPad light.

Well once you open the files in GoodReader - just go back to DropBox and do as I suggested. Delete the files in DropBox. There will not be any cache. Once the files are removed from the DropBox app, they are gone from DropBox.

Open one of your DropBox folders and all the files are listed in the preview window on the left. Swipe across one of the files and the delete button pops up.

If you are in portrait mode, you have to tap on the DropBox icon in the upper left corner to bring the preview window up on the screen.

I know exactly what this person is talking about and they are not getting the right answer.

I recently found out that I am using 350mb of storage on my ipad for Dropbox.

I have nothing favourited.

Now, I want to KEEP the files on DropBox as they are NOT suppose to be using storage on my iPad. So, I wish to keep them on there, and keep the App so I can "view" the images from the image on the DP server.

However, I am told by Dropbox that the App basically caches it like Safari/IE does. On Windows you can view the cached images and delete them. How do you do this on iOS?

Once again: I do not want to delete the images on Dropbox, just the cache.
