iTunes Installation Error

iTunes Installation Error

Every time that I try to install iTunes I get the following message.

"Some installation files are corrupt. Please download a fresh copy and retry the installation."

I have tried to install via CD and online. I get the same message with both. I have shut down my virus and spyware programs before trying installation.

everytime i try to upgrade it says it will automatically and then when i do and try to purchase a song it goes back to the upgrade

okay, here's a couple of things that sometimes can help with that error message.

(1) try using a different browser for the download. in particular, use a different browser for the download if you've been using the IE 7 Beta.

(2) try downloading the installer from the "QuickTime 7.1 with iTunes 6 for Windows 2000/XP" link on the QT download page instead of the standard itunes download site:

http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
