Problem to connect Time capsule to Huawei hg8245

Hi,

I need to connect my Time capsule to Huawei hg8245.

Before i used ADSL internet and used Dlink modem in bridge mode.

Now provider changed and i need use this Huawei hg8245 as provider using serial number of this modem for peoviding me internet.

i can not use this modem in BRIDGE mode.

so what should i do to make my Time capsule working in DHCP and NAT as when im using this i see error as "double nat"

when i turn off "NAT" in my huawei there totally no internet connection.

Do router mode on the Huawei so that it does the DHCP and NAT and put the Time Capsule in bridge mode. Anyone out there agree?

Its works. but there will be no access to my TC HDD if i'll be out from my network

You can still access the TC when it is bridged.. all you need to do is set the TC to a static internal address from the HuaWei.. and port forward 548 for AFP access.

With BTMM and iCloud you should not even need to do that.. you should still be able to access it as long as ISP doesn't block the ports required for apple to connect iCloud.

Explain exactly how you were accessing the TC and how you want to do it in the future.. can you change over to BTMM and iCloud if you were not using it before??

LaPastenague,

i've set a static IP on my TC and on Huawei set this IP in a white list(all connections such as UDP and TCP)

now i tried to connect to TC from outside network. I see it in my finder tree TC but can not connect to it (((

everything is switched on (BTMM) on my mac and on TC

I want to access to my TC for some files if i'll be out of town

Can you access the Mac remotely using BTMM?

I do not see why the TC should not also work if the Mac does. But it might be a case where both being active won't work.. try just having the TC with Apple ID.. see how that goes.

But I can give you the instructions for remote access directly as long as you use Macbook computer so it is AFP.

I have only Macbook Pro and TC 2TB.

Before when i had ADSL internet provider everything was OK as ADSL modem was configured in bridge mode.

Now new internet provider gave me GPON Huawei modem HG8245 (fibre optic)

And i can not configure it in bridge mode as Provider not using PPPoE protocol.

Do you happen to have a static public IP then this is dead easy.. even if not .. as long as the huawei has dyndns client you can setup for direct access to the TC.. just forward port 548 TCP to it. With the TC in bridge you should be able to directly access via AFP.

but if i'll do this way is it possible someone can have access to my HDD.

maybe someone will scan the network. sorry if im talking as blonde

Hi,

Thanks, i solved my problem. I didn't try ur method.

I just switched my Huawei hg8245 into bridge mode. I couldn't make it before as provider always sent me its own settings. I just switched off TR-069 on Huawei and worked it out.
