my daughter gave me her ipod nano. it is formatted to windows and i have a mac. Can I change this? Also how do I change the user name? the ipod is not working on my mac

my daughter gave me her ipod nano . 2nd. generation. It comes up on i tunes but nothing is happening. I am trying to sync music to it.

I can see her name is still on it and it is formatted to windows. I have a mac. Can you help me with this?

Also, my itunes "source pane" does not show up. Any ideas?

It's been a while but it should work on a Mac because Macs can read Windows formatted devices. Otherwise, you can perform a restore operation to return it to the Mac format. If you go to support.apple.com/manuals/ you can find a copy of the user manual for the model you have in which this is all explained.
