Q: My icloud is saying that I need more storage , so i delete A LOT off of my IPod , still doesnt work, AND at the bottom , the green bar says i have 1.7 GB available of my 5.0 GB in ICloud and it still doesnt back up ??

Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage, tap on your iPod. It should tell you the backup size and how much space each app will take.
