what if there is no progress bar just apple logo?

what if there is no progress bar just apple logo?

Progress bar completed then disappeared. Now Apple logo is displayed and nothing else. Its been 1 hour since i "Erased Content" on iphone 3G. Is it stuck or still erasing the content?
