Hi, this has worked for a few...

Though all of these steps may or may not be needed, I'm including them all.

Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712

    10.5, 10.6, 10.7 & 10.8…

System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.

    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...

System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.

The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.

    10.4 instructions...

Is that Interface dragged to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations.

    If using Wifi/Airport...

Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.

For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...

    208.67.222.222

    208.67.220.220

(There may be better or faster DNS numbers in your area, but these should be a good test).

    Click OK.

I have reset modem airport wifi , I have comcast and it is working fine on other devices. I do not have am antivirus program. This all started when my office remote access program was attempting to load, it couldn't connect, then screen when're black. When I came back the Internet would not load.  I have since deleted the application for the remote access to my work computer.

Open Network Utility in Applications>Utilities>Ping tab, enter this number & try it...

    74.125.224.36

    --- 74.125.224.36 ping statistics ---

    round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 75.176/89.472/96.133/7.072 ms

Then try the Traceroute tab with the same numbers, how far does it get?

The trace route goes up to 15.  Does it matter that some of the numbers are different?

No, the numbers should be different, what we want to see is if it's getting out past your Modem & on the Internet.

Try google.com instead of those numbers.

    Did the Ping work?

Put this in a Browser's url bat, what happens?

    Pre-Installed MacOS: X 10.7 (11A2061)

On the Info tab, you need to change the ˜etwork Interface to what you connect with.

    Where do I put google.com?

    I think the ping worked.

I typed in " pre-installed Mac OS: x 10.7 (11A2061) in the URL bar of safari and it says

Safari can't open page because the pages Ddress isn't valid .

I did change I do tab to Ethernet. Should I change it to airport ?

    Thanks for trying ---

OK, I still think this is a DNS issue, did you add those DNS numbers to the Interface you conect with?

Each Interface has it's own DNS settings.
