More like this is a very useful area to check out, as is typing in MacKeeper in the search (Communities) box, top right.

I have no idea how they can get away with advertising MacKeeper at all.

General advice is stay far, far away from it.

I have used it, though not on a G4. It caused the iMac to run very slowly. It found two viruses and half a gigabyte of "junk" it offered to erase. I declined.

The "rest of the story"? It was a brand new iMac. Nothing was installed other than what Apple installed at the factory... and MacKeeper.

It's junk.

Don't burden your G4 Mac with "clean up", "speed up", "optimizers", "scanners", "sweepers", or similarly named snake oil. None are required. Such products exist for one reason only: to separate you from your money.

MacKeeper is really no different than similar junk, it just happens to be the most aggressively advertised of them. Their marketing tactics are highly successful.
