Q: Why does my PowerBook G4 make a buzzing sound when I tilt it??

I had first noticed this with my iBook G3 (2002). When I tilted it the HD or something near it would make a vibrating/buzzing noise. It's been nick-named the "lightsaber noise". Well I had the iBook G3 for a year or more and then the HD broke. I now have a PowerBook G4 15.2 inch (2004) 1.5 Ghz Processor, and a 74.5GB Toshiba HD. The SAME thing happens when I tilt it. Is it the HD or the fans? Oh yeah, and later after the iBook's HD broke, noticed that when I tilt it the HD or fan gets caught to a grinding halt and then when you put it flat again it starts spinning. Maybe the disks in the HD? I am really worried about this PowerBook G4 because replacing a hard drive in one is annoying. Please help!

Thanks,

Apple hadn't yet incorporated sudden motion sensor technology in their hard drives.    Keep the machine level flat when using it to ensure long life on the hard drives except of course when the machine is shut down.
