Yahoo mail was working but now is not. Help needed

Off and on, Yahoo has asked for my password over the years. I now live in Kenya and sending e-mails worked until a week or so ago and then the sending just stopped. I used the 'cheat sheet' and then the e-mail would send, but only for a short time. This morning mail will not come in, nor will it send out. I'm frustrated and would appreciate any help someone can give me. I've a MacBook Air and use Safari and my e-mail is with Yahoo, if that helps. Thanks for any help you can give.

If you have a free Yahoo account, access to incoming mail from a mail client such as Apple Mail is not supported. It may work sometimes, or in certain regions, but not consistently. A free account is accessible only through the web interface.

You might be able to get Mail working temporarily with a free account by logging in to the web interface and confirming your identity, if prompted to do so.

Thank you, Linc. I've had Yahoo mail since maybe 2008? We were living in Rwanda at the time. In 2010 we moved back to the States and as of the beginning of this year we are in Kenya. I wondered if that had anything to do with it. I have a free account but I also pay to have Mail Plus with Yahoo. Don't know if that qualifies as having a free account or not.

Thank you for your help. I can get via the web but I've not been prompted for identity.

A paid Yahoo account should work, but Yahoo is a notoriously unreliable mail provider. Can you log in to your account via the web interface?

If you mean by 'web interface', going on the web and going on the Yahoo website, then, yes, I can log in doing that. I can even get my mail there. Is there a reliable mail provider you especially rely on for your mail? Thanks.

Almost anything except Yahoo. Fastmail is at least as good as any. To be fair, I don't know how reliable the Internet is in your location. That could be causing your problem.
