I cannot send email from any of my accounts via any of the asssociated servers, however I can receive mail through any of my accounts and servers. I haven't touched any of the preference setttings for any of the accounts so am really in the dark as to where to start to look for problems. I am using OS X 10.8.3.

I have, but my concern is for the iMac and the items that you point me to are for iPad. I will have to call my ISP and find if there is something that they have done as this happened like from one message to the next and the server thatisn't working is theirs. The other 2 accounts are now working, sort of.

Finally found the cause to this problem. The original error message that was generated when trying to send email just said that the email server wouldn't accept the message. Recently the message has been expanded to point to the authentication in my email setup. My authentication was incorrect so when I corrected it the writing of mail via this server worked.
