iPhone 4 Recovery Mode Loop PLEASE HELP ASAP

My iPhone 4 is stuck in a Recovery mode loop ever since I updated to iOS 6. I am using a mac running 10.8.3 with the latest iTunes. When it is connected to my computer iTunes pops up and says "An iPhone in recovery mode has been connected, you must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." Then I click restore and update and it goes through with the whole process then i get the unknown error -1 and an iPhone that is still in recovery mode:(

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

-1 very often indicates a hardware fault. make an appointment at the genius bar.

I called them and they said that they needed my serial number wich i do not have because my device is in recovery mode.

It's printed on the SIM tray. Or the box if you still have it.
