Mac-Mini on APC BE750G UPS ?

Is anyone successfully using the referenced UPS (or similar non-pure sine wave model) with a Mac-Mini ? In my research I am seeing warnings about using iMacs with these "stepped-sine" UPS devices, and calls for using a pure-sine wave device. Do I need to worry about the pure-sine vs. stepped-sine issue with a Mac Mini ? I can tolerate some buzzing during power outages - my main goal is to ride out momentary power interruptions, and to have a proper system shut down for the Mac-Mini for longer than momentary power interruptions. (I realized after last night's 5 second power interruption that corrupted my iPhoto database that I need to take precautions ....).

I am not an expert in electrics but I believe this concern is out of date. Most cheaper UPSs will be stepped sine, I have been using the UK version of this model for a couple of years with no problem with some NAS servers.

I maybe wrong but I seem to vaguely recall that this was more of an issue with old style power transformers made from lots of laminated layers of metal. The 'steps' would eventually cause the layers to delaminate. Most modern transformers no longer use this design.
