Transfer music (not purchased from itunes) from ipod to computer

can i transfer music, which was not purchased from itunes store, from my ipod (Classic model) to my computer and/or iphone? the only place i have the music stored is on my iphone as my old computer crashed and i lost all my music files.

any help that anyone can provide would be appreciated.

i tried plugging both my ipod and iphone in to my computer and opening them both in itunes. i can't seem to find a way to copy my music from my ipod to my iphone.

i can't move files from my ipod to my computer either.
