Q: can I cancel migration assistant once it's in progress

Just recieved my new MacBook Pro and migrating from my PC is going to take 15 hours. I think because of the pictures. Can I cancel the process without losing what has already migrated and start over later?

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)
