Q: Turned on apple tv first generation - - -no sound

Just started up the Apple TV to play a movie.   Had not used it in about 3 weeks - - - today - - -no audio whatsoever.

What is the solution?   If I reset will I lose items stored on the Apple TV which is first generation.
