lost my mac hd
I have a Mac mini (late 2012) 1TB
I recently tried to use EaseUs Partition Master and accidentally deleted or "wiped" my Mac HD. It now doesn't show at all at startup. I see the Mac recovery volume 10.8.1, but even when I try to install that (knowing it will permanately and effectively "officially" erase any hope I have of data recovery, it geves me the message:
MediaKit reports that not enough space on device for requested operation.
I tried to look for any of my "mac files" using HFSExplorer to no avail.
So my question(s) is/are this/these...
Are my old Mac files gone "forever"?
Is there any way to retrieve them?
if not,
How do I free up the space that now shows as "unallocated", so that I can reinstall Mountain Lion.
I do not have access to an external HD with the size needed to backup what I have on my Bootcamp partition.
I do not want to run the risk of losing all of my Windows files as well.
Lastly, I fully understand that this was a completely "bonehead" move on my part, but any suggestions would be appreciated. BTW, EaseUS makes it seems like their software will work with the above scenario and with a MAC/Windows partition, but let this serve as a cautionary tale...it "DOESN'T"!
I thank anyone out there that takes the time to read this and responds...
Thank You.
