I am trying to update the adobe flashplayer I keep getting the error quit dashboard client. I have read the forums and still can not get the update to work.
any help would be appreciated

Shut down the computer. Restart the computer.
Try to install Flash Player.
Unfortunately I've done that a million times and is still didn't work for me. In another thread I read you have to open Activity Monitor and look for (Dock) and quit the dock. Then try to install it. This seems to working out for most everyone.

It's strange that after you're closing the Dashboard, that it creates an new instance. It should be the responibility of the operating system to close intended applications.

Running 10.8.4 and the ONLY place Dashboard shows at all is through "Mission Control" and I have to open that before I can even access it.
You've got something configured wrong that causes it to relaunch.
