Hi,
I use my iPhone 5 for running and have bluetooth headphones and a bluetooth heartrate monitor connected. If I have the phone on my arm then all is fine but I would prefer to put it in the pocket on the back of my shorts/trousers but as soon as I do both devices go in out out of contact with the iphone all the time.
What can I do to resolve this issue?

Get a better quality headphone and heart rate monitor. :)
I've never had issues with Bluetooth range on any of my iPhones.
Try forgetting the pairing and then pairing the devices again.
Issue could also be a conflict between the two devices. Try each device on its own and see what the range is like.
The quality should not be an issue.

It definatly seems to be a range thing rather than a confliction because if the phone is close to them (1-2 feet) they function fine any further and there are problems.
troubleshoot if your device is defect by trying out a iphone from a friend or relative
I have a iphone4 and my bluetooth range to my a2dp headset is much longer then what you describe
the issue brought up since april and no solution for that from Apple, sounds like its a hardware factory fail "BIG TIME" ....

There are no Bluetooth issues that affect the majority of users, I use Bluetooth daily and have no issues.
If a specific user is experiencing issues, that that user needs to troubleshoot the problem.
diesel vdub, come on!!! just google iphone 5 bluetooth and you will find out how many userhaving the same issue
