iCal Problems using iCloud

I'm using iCal v 6.0 on my iMac with OS X v 10.8.3 & iOS 6.1.3 on my iPad and iPhone.


Recently and after enabling iCloud on all my devices and trying to solve a problem with birthdays showing up as multiple events on my iMac, I can no longer see the birthdays on my iMac even though they are in the contacts and "Birthdays" is checked under subscriptions in iCal on the iMac.


The birthdays still show on the calendar on my iPad.


Birthdays don't show up on my iPhone Calendar, but I don't know if they ever did.


What do I need to do to get birthdays to show up on my iMac iCal and iPhone Calendar?
