Q: Can send but not receive gmail

I had the same problem.  What I did to fix it was go to Mail > Preferences, delete the account that is not receiving mail, and then re-add it.  It will default to the correct authentication code and after you save, you mail should start flowing in.  Hope this help.

OK, so you continued under the heading "Click here if your Incoming and Outgoing email account settings are correct, but the issue persists." What happened then?

Mail Connection Doctor keeps telling me there's a problem with my IMAP settings

That is an error message. So you continue under the heading

Click here if a "Trying to log in to this (email server provider name) account failed…" message or any other error message appears

Could ypu explain to me more precisely what you did to solve this? I am having the same problem, although not getting any error message through Mail Connection Doctor

Unfortunatley, I don't use the 2 step verification feture, so I can't turn it off.

please help!

i have a gmail account on my macmail that is NOT receiving email from any other accounts i'm sending test email from. it shows the email was sent (from other account), and the gear wheel spins on gmail acct. but nothing is delievered. also the message never arrives in my INbox on the gmail server.there are no error messages in connection dr. (all green), no filters in gmail. POP disabled. have deleted and rebuilt account in macmail. have rebuilt account. nothing changes. gmail server is cumbersome.

seondary issue  (less important to me) is that all my mail lands in 'all mail' on gmail server rather than inbox. can't figure that one out.
