system just "hanging"

I watched a DVD, then stopped, tried to eject it. It didn't work. Now the DVD is still in the drive. and I couldn't log out the system. I called apple tech support, they are OFF, I bought the apple care, which included tech support, but when I need it, they are just not there, I couldn't believe the words "it just works", what a joke!

What I can do now, un-plug the power? On the PC, I didn't do that, I dont think I need to do this on a Mac.

iMac G5 (iSight), Mac OS X (10.4.6), Compaq EVO N410c (laptop)

I resolved this problem by un-plug the power. Just no other choice, firstly I can run safari, when I closed it, then I couldn't run any app.

I have to say Mac, CRASH DIFFERENT User uploaded file
I should NOT have high expectations for a Mac, it's just another computer and another OS compared with windows, and PC. PC crashes, Mac the same. I should've known this couple of years ago. What a BIG JOKE!

Thank you all.

Continue, just I'm so mad at this.

On a PC, crash is crash, coz it's blue screen, we all know PC is not better than Mac.

Why? Mac crashes different, it never shows you a blue screen, or shutdown the system. "We never crash", yes, it's true, the system seems working when it crashes, but you can do nothing except waiting and waiting, then you crash, un-plug the power. That's why Mac is better than a PC. As an IT specialist, I should've knew this, sigh... they are the same, computer with an operating system, and the OS is made by people, people made/are making/will make mistakes.

Thank you so much, myhighway.
I ran the disk utility after reboot. But didn't run the first aid, will check it out, it'll make the harddrive healthy.

After rebooting I can eject the DVD properly. I guess just front row DVD playing program crashed the whole world. And drived me nuts. Anyway, the front row is a new app.

Thank you again to make my harddrive healthy.
