My new ipad4 is running way slower then my old ipad2!!

Ok so I just got the new super fabulous ipad4 for my birthday, only problem is... it's been nothing but problems. It runs so slow you can't do anything online and I know it's not my wifi because I also have an ipad2 that runs lightening fast, side by side the 2 is smashing the 4 in everything I'm talking downloading apps, using apps, getting online, playing any kind of video or media at all. I've already took it back to apple and did the whole appointment thing, they ran diagnostics on it and nothing changed so I brought it back to them again and they ended up giving me a new one because there were "software problems" with the first one. So here I am brand new ipad4... same exact problems. I am slightly tech savvy and have gone through all the basic troubleshooting steps ie: resetting the router, turning it on and off etc... This probably sounds silly but I'm very frustrated with a certain app... "ITUBE" is one of my absolute favorite apps I use it all the time everyday and it runs perfectly on my ipad 2 but runs so slow on my ipad4 it's unusable! Please help!!!!! Thank you! I'm at my wits end at this point I'll try anything!

It confuses me more as well! Your new machine has more physical storage, and is only occupying a quarter of the space your old machine is using.

If that happened to me, and the numbers you reported felt correct to me (in other words, I could rationalize why the older machine would be using 9GB more than the iPad 4), I would try restoring the new iPad using iTunes on my computer.

First I just wanted to say thank you for trying to help, I feel so abandoned by Apple it's so disappointing especially after taking it in to their store (@ the mall, where it was purchased, less then 6 weeks ago) 3 times and when I explained it to them, showed iit to them (the last time I even brought my ipad2 with me to show them the side by side comparison and the ipad2 smashed the ipad4 in speed downloading apps, streaming video on wifi down to just loading a basic homepage) no one can give me any kind of explanation. They restored it the first two times, admitting the problem, the third time, after taking it into repair again they just gave me a new one, nice of them yes but irrelevant to me if its doing THE EXACT SAME THING. Not to mention its kind of funny bc the reason my bf got me the new one for my bday is bc lol I had on 6inch stiletto spike heels (super hot, but dangerous, lol!!) and accidentally stepped on the corner of my ipad2 cracking the corner of the screen, like big crack. Sad thing is it still works wAaaay better, faster..... Tried to restore... No difference. I can't watch any kind of video online like no YouTube, the video will start but then stop then you hit play and it plays for like 10 seconds then stops... It takes apps 3x as long to download and websites take 3x longer to load if they load at all.... Please don't give up on me please please help I don't know where else to go for help!!!! Thanks again <3 Lexi

Thank you so much for any suggestions, I feel so abandoned by Apple, so disappointing... Anyway both iPads are using wifi, I don't know a lot about routers but it says 'Linksys 2.4ghz 802.11b Wireless-B Broadband Router model befw1154' as far as the access point, simultaneous-dual-band model, and using different bands, I'm not sure how to find the answers to those but please don't give up on me, I learn quickly, I promise!! Thank you again!

That's a ten-year-old router using a similarly old wifi standard, but it should keep up with most low-end home internet connections. If you have (or get) a higher-end home internet connection, you should seriously consider getting a newer router. Wifi is two generations faster these days, going on three.

However, if your iPad2 smoked your iPad4 running side-by-side in the Apple Store on the store's wifi, the performance of your home router can't be the entire explanation for the problem.

Nothing in those links Texas Mac Man supplied helped?
