Network points not showing in dock

We are running OSX Lion Profile Manager to manage ~2,000 macs in a public school district. In some of our computer labs we have "Dropbox's" (basically network share points on another server). The network share points mount just as they should but I also have a policy set to add those share points to the dock. Now, my problem comes in here. I am getting just ? marks and that is it in the dock. I have read that the dock is loading before the points are mounting and running "Killall Dock" in terminal will refresh the dock and show the points. I can write a script that will run the command to refresh the dock but that is a pain/not the solution I am wanting to have permantely. Has anyone found a solution for this? The client computers are also Lion.
