I have inserted a photo using the templates found in the upper right of the mail window in this "air mail". Put once the photo in place the heads are missing so although I get a hand symbol I am unable to move the photo up or down.. Using latest Mac software and app software. Any ideas welcome.

Click on the photo and a little zoom slider bar should appear.

It should center the photo in the frame. You can zoom in and out to get the whole picture or some zoomed in portion. It doesn't allow cropping.
If the image isn't centered in the photo, you need to crop it appropriately in iPhoto or Preview (or whatever photo editor you want to use). Then, drag the cropped photo into the frame.
Thanks. Sometimes I get a hand symbol and that usually indicates the ability to move a photo.

I tried it again and once you zoom in a little, you can drag it around with the hand.
Well done, Barney. I tried it and that works! Funny I was just looking a areas around Daytona Beach for a family holiday and wondered what it is like there.
I've never been there. I flew over years ago.
I'm up on the panhandle. Here, the Destin beaches are some of the most beautiful I've been. Pristine white sand and emerald green water. Just a bit West of Panama City.
