Existing Service Data Present

I have a Mountain Lion Server 10.8.2 that won't let me move the service data store to where it was.

Service data was directed toward a RAID 50 voloume that temporarily went off line after a reboot of the server. After the RAID was back on line I discovered that the service data store had reverted back to the startup volume.

Now when I try to direct the service data back to the RAID, where it originally was, I get the error message "Existing Service Data Present. The volume “RAID-01” already contains service data in /Library/Server. Please delete or move the data and try again, or choose a different volume.

Well duh. I know there's service data there. This is the very service data I need to use! Now Profile Manager, Calendar and Contacts and other services don't work.

Is there a way out of this mess? It is frustrating that OS X Server has become so fragile.

Thank you.
