Apple ID created in iCloud wont work in iTunes

I created a work apple id in icloud, then tried to use this id in iTunes (so hopefully i can sync iCal and my iphone calendar), however when i try and sign in it says "you have not used this ID in iTunes before, review account" What the?? Please help this is so frustrating!! 😟
