Please advise on the above, I have USB'd two external discs to a new Macbook Pro, with no success. The window in Time Machine doesn't list either of them. Thank you..
Both discs have been used with Macs..one with a previous Macbook and one with a current IMac..
Were they used for TM on those other Macs?

I've run with the suggestions, but the discs dont appear in any windows..
Do they show up in Disk Utility?
No..they don't show up..
Do other things work in those USB ports?

How old are these frives? Some chipsets don't work with the newest OSX cersions.
What Make/Model are they?
Ahhh! They are several years old! I should imagine that's the problem..thank you..
There may be something in Console & system log at the last date/time they where attached that night have a clue, but I suspect that is the reason.
