Burning DVD - Failed: Quicktime Error 0

For the very first time since using FCP X I got this error 3 times in a row. Yet I burned without any problem this project three days ago.

Will try to burn another project to see if the problem is the project (???) but if anyone has a clue, please let us know! Thanks.

Can't explain it but suggest you try trahing the preferences before the next burn.

It's dead easy and won't take a minute.

Many weird things happen as a result of corrupt preferences which can create a vast range of different symptoms, so whenever FCP X stops working properly in any way, trashing the preferences should be the first thing you do using this free app.

Shut down FCP X, open PreferenceManager and in the window that appears:-

1. Ensure that only FCP X is selected.

2. Click Trash

The job is done instantly and you can re-open FCP X.

There is absolutely no danger in trashing preferences and you can do it as often as you like.

The preferences are kept separately from FCP X and if there aren't any when FCP X opens it automatically creates new ones . . . instantly.

is any of your Projects files on some sort of net-work drive?

Error '0' is to nomenclatura ...

/* OpenTransport errors*/

enum {

kOTNoError = 0, /* No Error occurred */

okayyyyy, not really..... 😉

but this group of errors are all about Open Transport, which cares for FTP .... any files in the Cloud? GoogleDrive, DropBox, iCloud? a NAS in use...?

Reviewing my 1 1/2 hour project (80G after compressing in ProRes) I found that about 8 clips had become corrupted - they had lost their sound!!! Was able to re-import those clips and replace them in the timeline. After doing all this however, the project would stilll not burn on a DVD, it would jam again at 57% and give me the QuickTime Error 0.

Thanks Ian. I think I will give it a try. I am always reluctant to download apps from an external souce but I really don't want to lose this project which took over two weeks to build. Yesterday I exported it to ProRes 422, but the resulting file is 70G and will not burn to a DVD - I have Compressor but don't use it much. Any idea how to compress and burn a 70G ProRes 422 file to a DVD (DVD format is a requirement for that project)?

Digital Rebellion is a very reputable company and most of the leading contributors to this and other forums use their products ......... especially the free ones.

You need have no worries about downloading from them.

The size of the project is unimportant .............. it could be a million GB and that wold be OK.

What matters is the length/duration ............... as long as it's no more than two hours or so, all you do is drop it into Compressor or iDVD or Toast etc. and the app will automatically compress it to a size suitable for a DVD.

Even easier, just select the project in FCP X's timeline and chose Share>DVD and FCP X will automatically create a DVD from your project.
