Logitech G400 mouse behaving weird

I replaced my old and now faulty Logitech MX510 mouse with the Logitech G400 gaming mouse which seemed to be the same mouse but updated.

In Logic the two thumb buttons and the window button all transmit a normal click along with whatever command is associated with that particular button.

Has anyone experienced this?

Let me be more specific. The new Logitech G400 is not compatible with Logitech Control Center, the new Logitech Gaming Software must be used and the latest version 8.45 is installed on my computer.

After assigning my Logic commands to the eight specific buttons on the G400, there is a big problem. The two thumb buttons and the window button send an extra click with whatever commands these buttons are programmed to send.

For example, the button closest to the thumb sends SHIFT+SPACE, my command to go to the beginning of a region, but while in the arrange page and while hovering over a region with controller automation enabled, it will write automation in the region as well as send the programmed SHIFT+SPACE.

My old MX510 is programmed with the same command for this button but does not send an extra click command to write automation.

I have uninstalled the LCC and restarted to make sure there were no conflicts between the two softwares.

Please advise.
