Display shows no SIM card?

Ipad showed "no SIM" when restarted it recognized cell service. Happened again and now is stuck. Have restarted but no change. Ideas?

Its possible the sim card lost contact with the iPad due to dust or misalignment, so you may want to try opening the sim tray with the included Sim removal tool, clean off any dust from the sim card and replace it.

If not, and resetting the iPad doesn't work either, you may want to take it to your Cell carrier and ask them to take a look at the sim, it is possible it failed, and needs to be replaced. They should be able to do this easily, and with minimal to no charge depending on the carrier.
