Is there an FCP work flow for 720P30 footage

Hello everyone.

I can capture my 720P30 footage via a JVC deck onto FCP but can't seem to be able to get it back onto tape... should this be possible?

I have FCP 5.0...

Also the captured 720P30 footage needs rendering before i use it and the sequence/capture presets are identical...?
