Hi folks-

I'm trying to scan a multipage document through the document feeder on an HP laserjet pro 400 mfp 425 dn.

After scanning the first page, I get the following error.

com.apple.ImageCaptureCore error -9931.

Can anyone suggest anything?

Thanks-

Robin

This looks like a permissions error. I would try repairing the disk permissions on the Mac to see if that will correct the problem.

To repair disk permissions:

  1. Open finder.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Search for Disk Utility, and open it.
  4. Select the drive the OS is installed on.
  5. Select Repair Disk Permissions.
  6. See if scanning will work now.

Let me know what happens.

Disk permissions certainly needed repair. There was a long list of repairs. There was also a warning:

Warning: SUID file “System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAg ent” has been modified and will not be repaired.

We repaired permissions on two iMacs, both running Mac OS 10.7.5 and Preview 5.5.3.

The 2.4 GHz mac was then able to scan and save.

The 1.8 GHz mac was still not able to save the scan. Preview stalled.

Thanks-

Robin

With the Mac that's still having the problem, see if doing an uninstall and reinstall of the printer's driver and software will fix the problem. Below are a couple of links that will help you through the process if you are not familiar with it. Let me know what happens.
