Q: HP Laserjet 1300N

Hi,

I have an iMac running Mountain Lion and am trying to connect a HP Laserjet 1300N using USB. Mountain Lion is full updated includinh an HP printer driver update yesterday.

If I send something to print I get pages with a line of the at the top usualy containing the word Adobe which text is not part of the document I am printing.

I suspect it is some postscript information. Can anyone help please? Has anyone got this printer working with Mountain Lion?

Thanks in advance.

Chris

I don't have that printer... What you're getting sounds like the driver is sending postscript to the printer but the printer isn't processing postscript. Does the printer have a front panel and a setting for turning postscript on and off?

You can experiment and use the manually selected driver model "Generic PCL 5 or 6." This sends HP's standard PCL language commands to the printer instead of postscript.

Thanks - added a new printer generic PCL and problem solved.

    Many thanks, Chris
