Can seperate iTunes accounts be combined (merged)?
Is there a process for merging multiple iTunes accounts into a single account?
No, Apple does not allow that, but you can put it all into one library if you wish.

Thank you for the quick response. I'll put them into a singkle library but won't I have to sign in and out of multiple accounts to perform App upgrades?

Yes, unfortunately you will. The apps are permanently associated with the account from which they were originally purchased, and Apple provides no way to change that association (and not because a lot of people haven't asked!).
Going forward, pick your one main account and stick to it as much as possible.
