Q: My mac isn't performing software updates.  It frequently asks me if I want to update, however when i restart, it doesn't install the updates.

My mac (version 10.6.8) frequently asks me if i want to perform software updates.  When I click yes, it prompts me to restart.  However when i restart it does not attempt to install the updates, it just restarts.

    Hello, what are the names of these updates?

     

    Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.

     

    (Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
