Opera browser download

I am trying to download the Opera browser, but my Macbook says the .dmg file format is unrecognized. The file is called Opera_12.15_Setup_Intel.dmg. What can I do?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Try downloading Opera from your App Store - maybe that version will work for you.

Okay, thanks for the advice, but I was having trouble connecting to the app store, so I tried a different technique. I renamed the file and removed the period between 12.15. Then the file opened fine!
