have a screen cleaner "clean screen" made from deionized water and proprietary polymers, is this safe to use on my macbook pro with retina screen?

Try not to use chemicals on your screen - especially a Macbook with Retina...
Microfibre cloth that is damp - not wet - will do the trick.
