Has anyone been able to solve this problem? I have tried the solution offered by Apple to no avail. It's driving me to despair! i need to be able to get into iTunes because I have a iPod also.

Thanks RajaRani, yes I have tried both your suggestions, neither have helped at all. i will ring Apple tomorrow to see if I can get to the bottom of this. Nothing seems to work to fix this problem.

After trying to reinstall the last version of the .net Freamwork and if the same issue perssists
you've to contact apple tech support, in all most cases, they will open a ticket, in which they will include
1. MSinfo32 Report
2. The installer log
