Although These Days Most of the range extenders Are Plug And Play Which Means You Can Just Setup Them in 2

minutes But those 2 minutes Can be very long if you really don’t Know the Right steps to get this Going .

Hi,

Just to rule out any misunderstanding, did you locate the DAP-1320's own wireless network name on your computer, then enter the password (apparently on a Wi-Fi configuration card with the DAP-1320), and finally try the http://dlinkap.local address?

Generally speaking, if there is a problem accessing a web-based configuration page, try another web browser.

Also, if necessary, you may have to reset the D-Link device to factory settings first.

As I read the instructions (I do not own a DAP-1320), the amber light should be blinking when you wish to connect directly to the D-Link device for setup. The solid green light indicates that you have an established connection with a router (such as the AirPort Express), which would be later (after the completed setup). See page 5 in fine in the Quick Installation Guide for details. The manual below may also be of interest.

I give up. Thank you so much for your help. I tried one more thing to make sure this is still functional, I switched to an old router the Netgear N300 and it communicate with each other, my biggest problem is on my Imac it will say both of them ethernet and wifi connected but the browser will not open. Even my Iphone will say connected but will not connect. So, I believed that this dap 1320 is not compatible to apple express. Thanks again.

Hello again joji,

I may be completely wrong, but somehow I get the impression that you are attempting to connect to the wireless network provided by the AirPort Express, not directly to the DAP-1320. However, I assume that the first thing must be to look for a (default) network SSID for the DAP-1320 in the list of wireless networks on your computer (to make things easier, you could perhaps switch off all other wireless devices). Once found, try to enter the wireless password for the DAP-1320 on the Wi-Fi Configuration Card mentioned, and after that try to connect locally to http://dlinkap.local using an appropriate web browser. If necessary, you could even try to use another computer for this local connection. By now a login page for the web-based configuration utility of the DAP-1320 ought to appear, at least according to page 11 of the User Manual (link above). The web-based utility should then allow you to configure the DAP-1320 for use with an AirPort Express or any other router.

Mr Heldlund,

Thank you for not giving up on me. But somehow, I did not give up and did the whole process of resetting to factory default and gave a try of going to my airport apps and put the default name and password of the dap and for somehow the dlinkap.local pop up on my computer screen and was able to configure it. If you did not send me those link to dap manual I would not have known how to reset it. Thanks again. You are a very helpful and patience person to work me. Thank you again. Its working! Amen!
