I can receive but not send e-mails. Message says connection to host smtp failed. I receive e-mails ok

Caladh, Go to Mail preferences>accounts and make sure your SMTP is set to the correct server.

I have the same problem I have checked the server connections and thet are the same as my other computer that works fine. Same ports, SSl, name but mail will nto go out. HELP!

You can also try recreating the account maybe it became corrupted. Click the + in accounts mail prefs and follow the prompts (write down your existing acct info first) then see if the new account works by sending yourself an email.

If it is OK delete the 1st acct.

Thanks. I hoped this would work but when i went to the Mail Preferences and hit the + and ut in information I was told my information was already there and could not continue further.
