what device drivers should i have installed for an ipod nano 6th gen

I recently got a Ipod Nano 6th gen. When I plug in the Ipod to my laptop(windows 7) it only shows up as a USB driver and will not show up on my computer or in Itunes. I have done everything on the troubleshooting list and every other article on the apple site. I have plugged it into a friends computer and it works great so I dont think it is the device itself. I have gotten the Ipod to be recognized in Itunes, but it goes to recovery mode and gets stuck in restore. any help would be much apprecieated. Thanks

iPod nano, Windows 7

I would try shutting down and disconnecting all USB devices, including hub. Start up the computer with only standard keyboard and mouse connected (if normally used).

Run iTunes. Connect iPod to a direct USB port on computer. If necessary do a Reset on the iPod

If you are prompted to do a Restore, try doing it again.
