Apr 25, 2013 1:34 PM in response to randers4by TLC47,Thank you randers4. I had already done this but it makes no difference. Perhaps I have too many devices receiving mail which includes outlook, iPhone, iPod and iPad.

Apr 25, 2013 1:37 PM in response to randers4by randers4,Do you have more than one iCloud account on your iPad? If so, only the primary account (in Settings>iCloud) will receive push email. Secondary accounts (in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars) receive fetch email.
If that's not the problem, there are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try on your iPad in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4002.

Apr 25, 2013 1:44 PM in response to randers4by TLC47,Thanks. I only have one mail account. Interestingly your emails are coming through immediately but emails from other external sources are considerably delayed.
I will look further into the problem from your web link. Thank you.

Apr 25, 2013 1:50 PM in response to TLC47by randers4,You're welcome. I'm not sure why there would be a significant delay between your devices if they are using the same internet connection (such as your wifi). Mine are usually separated by only seconds.
