Mov not running on PC

I exported a file from iMovie 4 in mov format in the FullDv or Final DV i dont remember. the last quality setting that is given and burnt it on a cd. now when i try to play it on my PC it shows "Error -2048: the file is not a movie file". I have quick time 7.0.4 bundled with itunes.

please help

Personally I would have prefered to save as MPEG-4, to view on a PC-but I don't think that counts.When you look at the file in your PC does it look like a QT movie or it looks as a .DAT file? In case it doesn't have an extension, make a copy of it at your desktop and add the extension .mov manually.Otherwise, you can always try with the Get Info pane make it a QT movie directly from your Mac prior to exporting.

P.S. : I'd like to help further, but I'm now on iMovie6 and don't remember settings...

Well it is a QT file. .mov format burnt at fullDV at 7710:watever its supposed to be.

I've got the same problem. -2048 on a PC with a .mov file created with Quicktime 7.1 on a Mac. NTSC DV 720 x 480 video standard. In fact it doesn't matter if the original file was created with 7.0.4, it will still give you a-2048 in Quicktime 7.0.4 or 7.1 on a PC. This issue needs to be addressed asap.

ya i hv also exported it at NTSC DV 720 x 480 in imovie 4 and it is not playing on windows now. Not even on vlc.
