I've "lost" my programs folder! How do I get it back? It was there at the bottom of the screen on the left hand side of the "dock" when I last closed down. The next time I turn on the computer it has "disappeared". Where did it go?

Choose Computer from the Finder's Go menu, double-click the internal drive, and drag it back from there.

I see that you have just lost it from the Dock, not from Mac OS X. To recover it, open a Finder window and drag Applications from the Finder sidebar to the right part of the Dock, so it will appear there. If, after restarting, it disappears again, you may consider a problem with your Dock settings file
